BACK TO BASICS
This is a great time of the year to set goals that will keep you on track for achieving success. Your carpet, rugs, and hard surfaces are no exception – with proper maintenance you can greatly increase the life of these investments. In this issue we want to remind you of some practical steps that you can take to keep your carpet looking great.
1. Vacuum Filtration Soil
Have you ever seen dark lines around the perimeter of a person’s home? That’s called filtration soil, and it can become a permanent stain if you’re not careful. When dirt and dust particles hit the walls in your home, they fall down and have nowhere to go. Using your vacuum’s crevice tool, you can vacuum these areas and remove the soil before it causes a stain. Also, you may want to take a clean, damp rag and scrub the perimeter of your carpet. 2. Check the Bags, Belts, and Height Adjustment on your Vacuum
We recommend that you replace your belt at least once a year. Using a vacuum with a worn out belt or old bag can diminish the suction capability of your vacuum and cause premature wear to your facial yarns.
3. Double Vacuum
Twice a year it’s a good idea to spend a few extra minutes to give your carpet a double vacuum. This extra-thorough vacuuming will collect the items that your normal vacuuming may leave behind.
